We are very carefully monitoring the situation about the Coronavirus, and are implementing the necessary changes required to ensure that we deliver Primary Care as safely as possible under exceptional circumstances.
- The safety of our patients and staff is our number one priority therefore with immediate effect the practice will move to a telephone triage system. If you have, a routine appointment booked in the future please note that this is now a telephone consultation and a Doctor will contact you directly on the telephone number we hold on your medical record. It is therefore important that you provide us with up to date contact numbers, you can do this by either calling the surgery or emailing us quoting your full name, address and date of birth to [email protected] Any requests from patients for on the day appointments will all be telephone triaged by the Doctors, therefore please call as normal for an appointment and then an appropriate clinician will call you back. If deemed safe and necessary you will be invited in for a face-to-face consultation.
- We have already suspended all online bookable appointments due to the Coronavirus outbreak; you can still order medication online.
- From Monday 23rd we will be closing our front door and patients who have been invited to attend the practice by a Doctor or a nurse will need to ring the front door bell for assistance.
- If you have a new, continuous cough or fever please, follow government advice and self-isolate, visit GOV.UK, NHS / NHS111online or call NHS111, DO NOT come into the practice.
- Following your consultation with NHS111 you may be referred back to your GP, in these cases NHS111 will notify ourselves and we will contact you directly.
- The dispensary will remain open and we will be handing out prescriptions via the dispensary front window, please DO NOT come to the practice if you have any of the symptoms, please ask a friend or a relative to collect any medication you may need. Please note that government guidelines do not currently state that we can extend the amount of medication you receive therefore we will continue with supplying you with 28 days’ worth of medication.
- Latest information can be found at gov.uk/coronavirus or nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19.
- We will continue to see patients with high risk blood monitoring, baby immunisations and patients who have regular injections, you will be contacted with any changes to appointment times, please however DO NOT come to the practice unless you have been invited by a clinician.
- Please note that if you are due for your long term conditions review (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Coronary heart diseases), that these have now all been suspended until further notice, if you already have an appointment booked we will contact you direct.
- Please look out for text messages from us and visit our website www.castlehead.org.uk and Facebook pages for regular updates.
- Please note that since the outbreak, our telephones have been extremely busy and we would ask you to be patient with us and only contact the practice if necessary.
- Please can we ask that you check on any elderly relatives and neighbors during this difficult time as they are now at their most vulnerable.
- If you turn up to the practice without an appointment our staff will ask you to leave the premises and call us using the practice telephone number 017687 72025, this is to prevent any cross contamination to vulnerable patients and staff.
- Please check the government website for regular updates which are changing daily.
We would like to reassure you that we are taking as many precautions as we possibly can to ensure the safety of all our patients and staff. We thank you for your patience and appreciated you support and understanding.
