The Urgent Treatment Centre at Keswick Community Hospital is still running with the usual opening times of 8.30am – 7pm daily.
However, anyone who feels they need care treatment will have to follow a strict process when they arrive at the hospital in Crosthwaite Road.
They will be requested to call the team inside the hospital who will ask them if they are:
- well and if they or anyone they live with or have come into contact with has had any of the following symptoms
- feeling unwell, have a new or continuous cough or have a high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher)
- only then will they get to see a member of staff.
People are advised to visit NHS 111 online first to see what the best options are; as always if it is an emergency call 999.
Visiting at Keswick Community Hospital has been suspended until further notice, to reduce the risks of bringing unknown cases of coronavirus into hospitals.
Anyone attending outpatient appointments should not bring others along with them unless it is essential.
The NHS Trust is reiterating Government advice for people not to come into hospital, or their GP practice, and to stay at home if they have a high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher) and/or a new, continuous cough.
In addition:
- if you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days
- if you live with other people, stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms
- if you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant, or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days; if you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.
People should use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:
- you feel you cannot cope with their symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after seven days.
