A district nurse based at Keswick Hospital is urging people to stay at home this bank holiday weekend after reporting an increase in cars and pedestrians in the town during the last week despite the Government’s “stay at home” message.
Keswick district nursing sister Yvonne Henderson thanked everyone who has been adhering to the guidelines to combat the spread of coronavirus which she says has had a positive impact locally, with none of her team of district nurses or their patients having tested positive for Covid-19 so far.
“I would like to thank, once again, the residents of Keswick for staying home but also remind people that the lockdown is still in place and to stay at home this bank holiday weekend,” Yvonne said.
She added: “The increase in cars and pedestrians has been noticeable this last week. We have done so well in Keswick and surrounding areas and the district nurses have managed to remain well, without having positive cases amongst their staff or patients, which minimises the risk of spread.
“I cannot emphasise enough that this is because you are staying at home and protecting the NHS and protecting your local vulnerable residents. Thank you again and let’s not spoil all the good you have done.”
