The search is on to find the owner of Peter Rabbit after this cuddly little creature was found abandoned in the street in Keswick.
The fluffy toy character – originally created by Lakeland children’s author Beatrix Potter – is now on display in a shop window in the town with a nearby note which reads: “I have lost my owner and been brought in to keep warm and dry.”
Tony Ripley is commercial manager at Atkinson Building Contractors’ Keswick office in New Street where Peter is now waiting to be reunited with his owner.
“We found a Peter Rabbit toy in Standish Street and we have put it in our window with a note,” said Tony. “We put a message out on social media. He looks very sad in the window and we thought it might be nice if we could find his owner,” he added.
Peter, who has been missing since 17th June, is holding a patterned cloth featuring his image. Anyone who can help him be reunited with his owner is asked to contact Tony on 07733 306 301.
