Wigton Motor Club is set to offer free membership to all current and new members under 25 in 2021 after only a few events went ahead before the country went into lockdown in March.
The region’s leading motor club was forced to postpone premier events including The Lake District Classic Rally and the Cumbria Classic Show, but it is now looking forward to when sporting and social events can resume.
Graeme Forrester from Wigton Motor Cub said: “Once lockdown comes to an end we will return to monthly breakfast meets, either at the club’s headquarters or other venues in the north of Cumbria. We hope to move to an online membership system and are also considering the possibility of a club simulator.
“In the meantime, the club’s 700 members are busing planning events, preparing their competition cars or restoring classic and vintage ones.”
Wigton Motor Club has an award-winning online magazine, Start Line, and an active Facebook page, visit: www.wigtonmc.co.uk for more details.
