A series of scam calls from fraudsters pretending to be police officers have been made across Cumbria.
Officers are asking the public to remain vigilant to the hoaxers who ask for money to be transferred and for cash to be withdrawn at the bank ready for collection.
The fraud was highlighted when Kendal detectives were made aware of a victim withdrawing money and it being collected by a woman who called at their home.
Enquires are ongoing to identify the female.
Police say that if you receive an unexpected call then you should be suspicious and reminded people that they or a bank would never ask for bank details over the phone or ask that money is withdrawn and sent via a courier, taxi or any other means.
