Fears of speeding traffic has prompted Cumbria County Council to introduce an emergency 20mph speed limit along the temporary one-way route along Station Street and St John’s Street in Keswick.
The one-way system was introduced in early July to manage road space and minimise the risk to the general public while complying with the Government’s coronavirus social-distancing rules.
The notice, which was implemented on Tuesday, will continue for 21 days when it is likely to be extended for a further 21 days.
