A man alleged to have caused “intentional distress” at a petrol station in Keswick is wanted by police.

Officers are requesting the public’s help in locating Stephen McDowell, aged 26, from Workington.

He is wanted in connection with the following offences reported to police:

  • 10th October 2020, at a venue on Jane Street, Workington. Threats to kill, racially aggravated provocation of unlawful violence and common assault.
  • 15th September 2020, at a petrol station in Keswick. Causing intentional distress.
  • 13th September 2020. Malicious communications.

He is believed to be in the area of West Cumbria.

Stephen is described as white, with short dark brown hair, blue eyes, a dark brown thin beard, 5 ft 8 in, and of slim build.

Police are advising the public not to approach McDowell.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 999.

“Assisting a person in evading arrest is a crime. Offenders may be prosecuted,” said a police spokesman.
