An exclusive collection of limited edition superhero artwork from the DC Comics universe is on display in Keswick.
Art gallery Treeby & Bolton, on Lakes Road, is the only gallery in Cumbria to display the artwork by DC and Marvel illustrator Alex Ross.
The collection includes illustrations of the much-loved superheroes Wonderwoman, Superman, Batman and villains including Batman’s arch nemesis The Joker.
Ross is one of the most sought-after comic book artists in history and has created more than 1,000 pages and covers for both DC Comics and the Marvel universe.
Libbie Barton, co-owner and director of Treeby & Bolton Gallery, said: “We’re thrilled to have this exclusive collection of signed limited edition artwork in the gallery.
“DC is a major and much-loved part of international popular culture attracting some of the greatest artists in comic book history, from the original creators of Batman and Superman to the brilliant and contemporary, Alex Ross, whose multi-award winning illustrations have become highly sought after as standalone works of art.”
The collection by the world-renowned US artist can be seen during gallery opening hours and Treeby & Bolton is also offering exclusive private viewings.
Libby said the collection was not just for comic fans. She added: “The five images are artworks in their own right and will make a stunning statement in whatever surrounding.
Co-owner Dan Barton added: “After this really difficult season, this bold, colourful collection carries a sense of much needed inspiration.
“We’ve had a great response from clients looking to invest in art for their home or home-offices.
“People are spending more time at home and want to invest in pieces that inspire them and bring them joy every day.
“Their value is ever more evident by the fact that they offer longevity, countering a throwaway culture and instead becoming ideal pieces to be passed on from generation to generation.”
Libbie and Dan took over the business over from Libbie’s dad, Keith Graham, and his partner Sue Hoffman, who ran it from 2005 to 2018.
