Leaders from Cumbria’s tourism sector will meet coach and tour operators and group travel organisers next month to talk about what the county has to offer.
Muncaster Castle, Ullswater ‘Steamers’ and Honister Slate Mine are among the attractions already signed up to the free online event, which aims to make sure Cumbria is on the itinerary for group holidays and tours when they can resume.
The Cumbria Showcase has been organised by Lake District-based Tapir Destination Marketing and Steve Reed Tourism Ltd of Hampshire.
Paul Kleian, of Tapir, said: “With the current uncertainty caused by lockdowns and travel restrictions, many tour planners are very keen to firm up their tour plans.
“The easy to use and business-like remote format of the Cumbria Showcase is an ideal and safe alternative for planners of tours as well as for tourism businesses who want to attract new group bookings.”
Already over 200 buyers of tours from around the country have signed up.
Any Cumbrian business looking to exhibit during the showcase, from February 15 to February 19, can visit www.tapirco.com/lakes-travel-showcase
