A leading Cumbrian auction house will be holding an online vintage and antique toy sale from next Friday.
Mitchells, in Cockermouth, has 500 lots of vintage and antique toys, dolls, cars, trains and comics to go under the hammer at the auction, which starts at 9am on Friday, January 29 and finishes at noon on Thursday, February 11.
The most valuable lot in the sale is likely to be a recently restored early 20th century Lines Bro’s Sportiboy rocking horse with a dappled grey body which should make £500-£800.
Another 19th century wooden rocking horse with a dappled grey painted body and red leather saddle is also for sale valued at £200-£300.
Amongst the dolls is a single owner collection of 30 bisque and composition dolls.
A Pedigree auburn haired Sindy doll with her original pink cardboard picture box and various outfits has an estimate of £70-£100 and a collection of 1970s hard vinyl Sasha dolls should make £100-£200 in groups of two.
A large Georgian style electrified doll’s house together with dolls and doll house furniture is expected to make £120-£180.
The sale features 200 lots of vintage and modern comics. including Marvel, DC and Dark Horse Comics among others, which are mostly former shop stock which should make £80-£120.
Four DC Direct Women of the DC Universe busts have an estimate of £60-£80.
Model locomotives and train sets include 0 gauge and gauge 1 locomotives by Hornby, Bing for Bassett Lowke, Bassett Lowke, and Aristocraft.
An Aristocraft Union Pacific diesel locomotive with two wagons and a good quality Bing for Bassett Lowke gauge 1 Southern 596 tank locomotive should both make around £150-£200.
An early 20th century C guage 1 Bing for Bassett Lowke 4-4-0 MR steam locomotive and tender should sell for between £150-£250.
Also for sale are 40 lots of good quality N guage locomotives by Graham Farish and Dapol, as well as several metal locomotive model kits from a local owner.
A Graham Farish N gauge 371-906 57XX pannier tank locomotive in green is valued at £40-£60 and four boxed N gauge metal model locomotive kits, by P&D Marsh should make £30-£50.
Among several Mamod engines and models for sale is a 1970s SA1 Roadster with cream body and spoked wheels with an estimate of £50-£80.
There are also half a dozen deconstructed Lego Technics kits, all ready to be built again.
Models include a Bucket Wheel Excavator (model number 42055) which may make £70-£100. Die-cast model cars include large scale CMC Model racing cars, all retaining their original packaging and mostly in good condition, as well as Dinky and Matchbox models with estimates ranging from £30-£50 and £150-£200.
The sale also includes 15 lots of Britain’s agricultural models and 15 lots of 1960s/70s Corgi models in their original blue and yellow boxes.
A Franklin Mint 1/12 scale model of an Allis Chalmers WC tractor has an estimate of £50-£80.
