The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Cumbria increased by 220 and four people have died, the latest official figures show.
Public Health England figures show that 24,452 people had been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19 by 9am yesterday in Cumbria, up from 24,232 the same time on Thursday.
Four new coronavirus deaths were recorded at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust in the latest 24-hour period.
NHS England figures show 355 people had died in hospital at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Thursday.
That was an increase of four compared to Wednesday, when there were 351.
It means there have been 17 deaths in the past week, down from 29 the previous week.
The victims were among 10,853 deaths recorded across the North East and Yorkshire. Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The rate of infection in Cumbria now stands at 4,890 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 5,865.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 29,079 over the period to 3,772,813.
Cumbria’s cases were among the 518,497 recorded across the North West, a figure which rose by 3,588 over the period.
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
