Teenage Keswick businesswoman Ellie Duplock, who began her cake-making business in her parents’ kitchen just over a year ago is becoming so successful that she has moved into new premises and launched the company on the popular online store Etsy.
Eighteen-year-old Ellie started baking with her mum when she was just two years old and now her brownies and traybakes are being posted to addresses across the UK under the banner Ell’s Cakes and Bakes.
She is now baking away in a shared unit on the Southey Industrial Estate.
Ellie said: “This is such an amazing opportunity for me and my little business and I couldn’t be more chuffed.
“My Etsy launch wasn’t as big as I had hoped, which was pretty gutting. I did hope for a few more orders.
“It’s a bit quiet at the moment, which is obviously worrying, but I must say thank you to those who spread the word by sharing away and being so supportive. Here’s to the next chapter of Ell’s Cakes & Bakes.”
Keswick Mini Market, in Market Square, carry a wide range of Ellie’s cakes, including brownie trays flavours and single slices of flapjack, rocky road and triple chocolate brownie.
