The cause of a wildfire near Keswick is still unknown as fire crews continue to dampen the flames.
A helicopter was called in to assist the nine fire engines from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service to tackle the blaze.
The 500 square metre blaze, on open scrubland on an embankment at Thornthwaite near Whinlatter Forest began yesterday.
Isolated pockets are still smouldering today.
The fire service is warning people not to set campfires or use barbecues in the area, due to the recent dry conditions and has urged people to be vigilant.
In a statement on Facebook, Forestry England thanked all the emergency services and reminded people that fire risk in the forest remains high due to the recent dry conditions.
