Threlkeld woman Sharon Johnson is set to begin a new career to help others lose weight and adapt new healthy habits to last a lifetime.
Sharon has been a member of Keswick’s Slimming World group for the past four years and reached her target weight over a year ago, losing two stone.
Now the married mum-of-three will have her own group, which will be held at Keswick’s Rawnsley Centre every Thursday.
Sharon has been a massive part of her local group and now she is ready to pass on her empathy, positivity and great ideas to help others reach their target weight.
Her lifestyle is very busy as she works as a beauty therapist at Star Beauty in Keswick and cleans holiday cottages.
She also finds time to socialise and is part of the local DCH running club.
Being a team player is very important to Sharon and she knows that having others to cheer her on has helped her succeed and this is something she wants to bring to her own Slimming World groups.
Sharon said: “You simply can’t beat the feeling of losing weight.
“Fitting into clothes that you thought you could never wear is a sense of achievement that runs through every fibre of your being.
“We learn to adapt old attitudes and habits in group and you’ll recover strength – mental and physical – you never knew you had.”
Slimming World works with National Health Service, Public Health England, The Royal College of Midwives and others to help shape the future of weight management in the UK.
With all this backing, people can apply for a 12-week referral via their GP, diabetic nurse or midwife.
