Seven workers from Keswick’s Booths supermarket have raised more than £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They took on the Macmillan Mighty Hike Challenge.
Fiona Bell, 46, a customer assistant at Booths organised the store to take part and encouraged colleagues to join her on the challenge.
Fiona said: “I read an article about the fundraising challenges charities were facing during lockdown and I thought, we could make a difference here.
“So many lives are affected by cancer, it affects the whole family. We all have a personal reason to support Macmillan.”
The Macmillan Mighty Hike was a full day hiking challenge of 26 miles around Ullswater ending at Lowther Castle.
Matt Welsh, store manager for Keswick said: “It was fabulous to see so many people from all over the country taking part, each with their own personal reasons.
“I have been humbled by the support we have been given from our fantastic customers and colleagues throughout Booths.”
