Mitchells in Cockermouth is holding a specialist sale to celebrate the Lake District.
Its first ever Summer in the Lakes sale, on Thursday July 15, will feature a host of lots from artwork and decorative items to outdoor sports and adventure equipment.
The sale catalogue includes a watercolour of Honister Pass by Albert Rosser (1899-1995), with an estimate of £100-£150 and an early 19th century watercolour of Ullswater valued at £120-£150.
A selection of decorative metalware by the Keswick School of Industrial Arts, including a pair of chambersticks among other items are also for sale.
The outdoor sports and adventure section features racing bikes including a mid- century Claud Butler racing bicycle with an estimate of £120-£150 together with a private collection of early bicycles including examples by Matchless. Also for sale are hiking and climbing boots, skis, high quality outdoor clothing and camping equipment.
A wide selection of competitive sports memorabilia including football, horse racing and boxing is also up for auction. A large collection of enamelled sports pin badges, including local speedway, football and rugby league, is expected to fetch in excess of £3,000 and will be sold in small groups.
Other sporting lots for sale are a Montreal Olympics 1976 jumper with an estimate of £30-£40 and a fine collection of early 19th century boxing prints which are expected to sell for £50-£70 each.
Lots will be on view in the saleroom on Tuesday July 13 from 10am to 5pm, Wednesday July 14 from 10am to 7pm and throughout the sale.
