Firefighters are tackling one of running’s most gruelling challenges from tonight to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
A team from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, including Keswick firefighters, are setting off at 8pm from the the town’s Moot Hall to complete a double Bob Graham relay run.
The monster challenger covers 132 miles and 54,000ft of elevation across some of the UK’s toughest terrain.
The Keswick runners include Dan Fletcher, Sophie Sinclair, Ryan Sibley and Dean Pepper.
Made all the harder by the forecasted hot weather, Dean said the team were excited but apprehensive, as most of the team were not trained fell runners.
The fire service is urging people to visit Keswick town centre where volunteers will be collecting money through a raffle.
The firefighters hope to complete the 84-peak challenge in less that 48 hours.
