A casualty had to be cut out of their vehicle following a collision on the A66 near Keswick.
Two fire engines were called at around 9.30am yesterday to the incident at Underskiddaw.
The North West Ambulance Service was also in attendance and looked after the casualty.
Fire crews were on the scene for around 50 minutes.
