One of Keswick School’s top business students has been presented with an award by Cumbrian accountants Lamont Pridmore.
Macy Dootson has won this year’s Lamont Pridmore Business Studies Student Award for her outstanding work at the school.
Macy was selected for the award by her teachers as she worked diligently throughout the course, demonstrating a great understanding of business theory, which helped her attain a Grade 9 in GCSE Business.
The school said that Macy always reflected on her learning and showed a genuine interest in the business world.
She was presented with a trophy by Philip Pridmore, a director at Lamont Pridmore’s local Keswick office. He said: “It was great to meet Macy and learn more about her passion for business and her skills as a student.
“As a firm, we think it is really important to support and inspire pupils to pursue a career in business – who knows Macy may one day launch her own company and rely on our tax and accounting services.”
Lamont Pridmore supports a number of school awards across Cumbria, through which it promotes the benefits of business studies in the hope of cultivating the region’s next generation of business leaders.
It has worked with Keswick School for many years and remains proud of its sponsorship of this annual award.
Simon Jackson, Keswick School’s headteacher said: “We are very grateful to Lamont Pridmore for sponsoring the Business award at Keswick School. Our long association with Lamont Pridmore has helped to raise the profile of business across the school.
“This has encouraged many of our students to become budding entrepreneurs or secure employment in highly regarded local businesses, such as Lamont Pridmore, within our community.
