A 74-year-old woman needed the assistance of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team yesterday afternoon after she slipped on a rocky step and fell injuring her chest.
The woman was nearing the end of a walk off Barrow when the accident happened shortly after 1pm. In a lot of pain and unable to continue, her daughter called 999 for help.
The Keswick team dispatched a vehicle to Braithwaite Farm and made their way to the casualty. The woman was checked over and given pain relief and then stretchered back to the farm.
From here her daughter drove her to hospital for further checks.
Eleven team members were involved in the 90-minute rescue.
