Staff at a Keswick charity shop are celebrating being open for a year.
The British Heart Foundation store in Museum Square opened its doors 12 months ago and has had a “fantastic year” selling pre-loved quality items – from clothes and bags to shoes and toys.
Staff want to thank the local community for donating, volunteering and shopping with them to help raise vital funds for heart research.
“We’re now asking the local community to continue to support us by donating good quality items ahead of Christmas and into the New Year,” said area manager Kathryn Haunch.
‘’We’ve enjoyed a fantastic first year of business in the Keswick shop raising money for the BHF’s vital work.
’’I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers and volunteers who really make this shop special and help the BHF fund its life saving research into heart disease, diabetes, vascular dementia and stroke.
‘’The coronavirus crisis has had a devastating impact on the BHF’s income and we’re now asking the local community to continue to support us by donating good quality items ahead of Christmas and into the New Year. We’re open seven days a week and also offer a free home collection service.
‘’If you would rather give the gift of time and have a couple of hours to spare each week, please do get in touch with us on 01768 773701 as we would love to welcome new volunteers to the team.’’
The shop offers a wide range of goods such as clothes, shoes, accessories, DVDs, books and CDs. Every penny raised from BHF shops and stores helps fund life-saving heart research.
