Whinlatter Forest will be closed due to predicted severe high winds that are set to sweep the area over the weekend.
Forestry England said the forest will be closed tomorrow morning, Saturday January 29, due to the forecast of severe high winds and Whinlatter will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
Up to 80mph gusts are predicted as Storm Malik rolls in.
A Met Office yellow weather warning – the lowest of three warnings issued by the forecaster – will come into force at 4am tomorrow, January 29, and will run until 3pm.
A second yellow weather warning for wind has also been issued from 6pm on Sunday until noon on Monday.
