Keswick market has been cancelled today due to the predicted high winds set to batter the county.
Allerdale council made the decision last night as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning and said gusts of up to 80mph were set to sweep across Cumbria as Storm Malik heads this way.
A spokesman said: “The forecast is for some windy weather on Saturday, so for the safety of our traders and the public, we’ve taken the decision to cancel our markets in Keswick and Workington.”
“Sorry for any inconvenience. We look forward to welcoming you back on the next market day in the towns.”
