Borrowdale farmer Peter Edmondson claimed the coveted overall championship at the Tommy Baxter show and sale of store cattle held at Cockermouth mart on Friday.
It was the sixth time Peter, of Seathwaite, had claimed the Tommy Baxter Perpetual Trophy, his award-winner on this occasion being a Limousin heifer.
This fine animal attracted many admirers and later sold for £2,000.
The sale, conducted by mart firm Mitchells, saw 1,491 store cattle on offer, attracting a huge ringside of purchasers, with the whole event presenting an impressive spectacle.
All classes sold to a fantastic trade, with the top price being £2,450 for a stylish 10-month-old Limousin heifer from RW and JH Emmott, Wythop Hall, Cockermouth.
Steers topped at £2,100 for a nine-month-old Limousin from I Powley, Green Marsh, Carlisle, who exhibited the reserve champion animal.
