A 73-year-old man required the help of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team after he started feeling unwell on the walk up the Dock Tarn path from Stonethwaite.
His friend descended to Stonethwaite to call for help as mobile reception in the area is poor.
The team were called at about 5.35pm yesterday, Thursday, March 24.
A Keswick team member living nearby was able to meet the informant and made his way to the casualty and help support him on the walk down to Stonethwaite.
The man was checked over by team and ambulance medics before transfer to hospital for an ongoing assessment.
Fifteen team members were involved in the two-hour rescue.
