A classic car collector from Workington has snapped up a rare supercar for £25,000 at auction.
Mike Ross bid for the 1973 Lamborghini at Mitchells sale room at Cockermouth.
The Espada Series 3 right-hand drive model was found in a Lake District barn, where it had been stored for more than 30 years.
Still requiring restoration, it is white with a blue leather interior and has only 44,461 miles on the clock.
The car’s discovery was featured on The Late Brake Show’ YouTube channel, which also filmed the auction.
Mike said he was surprised to win the lot against two other bidders on the telephone.
He said: “I didn’t think I’d get it. It’s nice it’s staying local, in Cumbria.”
He now wants to get the car running and enjoy driving it first before restoring it. He added: “In the past it’s always been Fords, Triumphs, Jaguars and MGs – nothing like this.”
Mike bought a Rolls-Royce from Mitchells some years ago which he restored then sold.
It later featured on BBC show Top Gear with Paddy McGuiness at the wheel in Ireland.
