With less than three weeks to go, the organisers of Keswick Beer Festival are ready to roll out the barrel again after the event was postponed for two years on the trot due to the pandemic.
Taking place at Keswick Rugby Club’s Davidson Park ground and on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend of Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, the event is a collaboration between the rugby club and Keswick Lions.
Both organisations would like to thank the 250-plus volunteers who give up their time over the weekend to help ensure guests have an amazing time and the event runs smoothly.
Thousands are expected with organisers promising the “biggest and best beer festival” it has ever held.
A spokesman said: “We are pleased to offer two full days with the gift of an extra bank holiday this year, therefore open 11am to 11pm on both Friday and Saturday.
“Saturday is sold out, however we still have Friday and weekend tickets available via the website.”
The event features six amazing bands playing over the weekend. Friday sees the return of The Moobs and on Saturday, The Kasios.
The event also welcomes new bands; Groovetrain, Mojo Rising, John Bowen, and Steel Foxes.
With more than 200 beers and ciders and a bottle bar there is a huge array to suit everyone’s tastes.
The spokesman said: “It is very important to the festival to support local businesses and many of the beers have been sourced in Cumbria. Keswick Lions continue to man the food tent with a menu to suit everyone all day long with a couple of twists on catering this year.
“The committee are always very grateful to our main sponsors and this year we would like to thank David Britton Estates, Pioneer, Kong Adventure and Keswick Brewery & Fox Tap for their very much-needed and appreciated support.
“As with the main sponsors we are indebted to the support received from festival guests and small businesses who sponsor a barrel of beer or cider which attracts an excellent package of benefits.
“We look forward to welcoming all sponsors to a bespoke sponsors evening on Thursday, June 2.”
Anyone interested in supporting the festival by sponsoring a barrel, information can be found at www.keswickbeerfestival.co.uk or get in touch via [email protected]
The event will be trialling card payment machines to purchase beer vouchers, but to be on the safe side, people are advised to bring cash too.
