A power outage has led to the closure of shops and businesses in Keswick yesterday.
Electricity North West said 84 properties were affected and power was restored at 7pm.
The blacked out businesses are predominately on St John’s Street while Greggs, The Cornish Bakery and The Old Keswickian fish and chip shop in the main square have also been affected.
Among the other businesses forced to close are Chinty’s cafe, The Square Orange, Keswick Collectables, the Premier store, Bruce and Luke’s coffee shop, The Square Orange, Cherrydidi and the Red Gecko. It is believed the power went off at around 7.30am and a number of fire alarms were activated.
Some businesses, such as the Northern Lights Gallery and Roly’s Fudge Pantry, remained open despite the lack of power.
Engineers are currently on site, Electricity North West said.
