Keswick wicket-keeper Stephen Moss has been suspended for eight weeks by the Cumbria League’s disciplinary committee.
Moss was involved in an incident with Cockermouth’s Gareth White in a League game earlier this month.
The umpires reported the incident to the League and as a result Moss was suspended for 56 days.
He was banned from playing and White was cautioned for his part in the incident.
The Keswick club has immediately launched an appeal against the suspension. Moss will be able to play for Keswick until that has been heard.
It is understood that Andrew Knott, of Cockermouth 2nds, has also been suspended until July 4.
