An 89-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision on the A591.
The incident happened at around 7.50pm yesterday, August 10, at the pass of Dunmail Raise.
The man, who was driving a red Honda civic was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
Nobody else was was injured during the collision.
Officers would like to speak to a group of motorcyclists who were in the area at the time or any witnesses who may have seen the incident or turned up immediately after.
