A 12-year-old youngster was airlifted to hospital after being landed on them in a pool at a Lake District beauty spot.
The girl had jumped into the pool at Black Moss Pot in upper Borrowdale, but another person jumped in and landed on their head.
The child got herself out of the water with some help but with suspected serious head and neck injuries.
The Great North Air Ambulance and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called at about 4.15pm due to the potential seriousness of the incident.
As a precaution the Coastguard was also tasked but were stood down once the Great North Air Ambulance arrived.
The child was airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Keswick sent two vehicles with other team members going direct. The journey up the valley was made much slower and more difficult by some very inconsiderate roadside parking.”
The rescue involved 20 team members and took two hours and 22 minutes.
