A Keswick-based councillor will proclaim King Charles III as the new Sovereign at an event on Sunday.
Cllr Allan Daniels, mayor of Allerdale, and a member of Keswick Town Council, will perform the historic ceremony outside Allerdale House in Workington from 12.30pm.
He will be joined by local leaders, dignitaries and council officers. Members of the public are welcome to attend the event which will be held outside at the flagpole, and are asked to arrive from noon.
Flowers can be laid at the flagpole at Allerdale House after the event, although it is preferred that no cellophane wrappers are left with the flowers, said Allerdale Borough Council.
People are also encouraged to make a donation to the Queen’s charities.
