A Lake District restaurant has been named the best place for East and South East Asian food in England.
Mizu Pan-Asian which is located at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in Borrowdale, has won the Best Restaurant in England accolade at the Golden Chopstick Awards 2022.
The prestigious awards ceremony was co-founded and is hosted annually by Gok Wan MBE and pays homage to the finest East and South East Asian Restaurants throughout the UK. It is one of the largest celebrations of East and South East Asian food in the country.
Flori Musca, Mizu restaurant manager said: “It was an honour for Mizu to be announced as a finalist for the Best Restaurant in England category, let alone to go on and actually win the award! It is such a momentous occasion for the whole team.”
Mizu’s achievement comes just three years after the restaurant won Best Newcomer at the 2019 Golden Chopsticks Awards ceremony in wake of its official opening.
The restaurant was catapulted into the final three within the Best Restaurant in England category after receiving an overwhelming number of votes from its customers; with celebrity chef Ken Hom sealing Mizu’s fate after judging all the finalists.
The awards ceremony took place at the five-star London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square and attracted a number of celebrities including TV personality Vanessa Feltz, This Morning’s Dr Ranj and attendees were even treated to a surprise performance from boyband Blue.
Marcell Cillers, general manager of the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, said: “Thank you again to everyone who voted for Mizu and gave us the opportunity to be in this position, and thank you to our incredible team from the kitchen to front of house – we could not have achieved this without you and you should all be very proud”
