The Keswick to Threlkeld Trail is likely to be closed until next week after a tree fell across the path.
The trail is blocked across the bridge, east of the small tunnel.
The Lake District National Park said: “To keep people safe we have had to close the trail immediately and the closure is likely to be in place until early next week. Please take notice of barriers and signage along the trail. Thank you for your patience.”
