Work on the new £6 million Premier Inn in Keswick is continuing at speed – but bosses are keeping tight-lipped over its opening date.
The new 71-bedroom hotel on High Hill looks as though it is nearing completion and contractors are set to hand over the building to Premier Inn owners Whitbread.
Only then will an opening date be confirmed, a spokesman said.
The spokesman added that recruitment had gone well and employees will begin to be inducted soon.
There had been concerns that the hotel would struggle to recruit enough staff to fill the 25 to 30 permanent and flexible jobs.
But a couple of meet the employer days had been successful allowing the management team to meet the community and talk about the employment opportunities on offer.
