Allerdale Community Players – otherwise known as Braithwaite Pantomime – have revived the fairy tale of Cinderella which they will be performing later this month.
This year’s pantomime has been written by Anthony Woodyear and features traditional ghosts and not one, not two but three dames!
The baddies and the goodies fight it out with much thigh slapping with Kerry Whitehead playing Prince Charming, Sarah Holmes as Cinders and newcomers Jackie Walker as Buttons. Barbara Thompson is Dandini and Kate Lewis is Queen Beatrice.
Children from Braithwaite School and Fairfield Primary School, Cockermouth, appear as villagers.
Andy McMaster is the director and also makes an appearance as one of the idiot brothers.
It will be performed on Friday January 20, at 7pm, and Saturday January 21, at 2pm and 7pm at the Braithwaite Institute.
Ticket prices have been deliberately kept at last year’s levels of £6 for adults and £2 for children and will be on sale in January from Hospice at Home, Museum Square and the Village Store, Braithwaite, or by calling Chris on 017687 78108.
Any profits will be donated to charity. There will also be a bar and a raffle.
