The Met Office has issued an updated ice warning for Cumbria.
Running from 6pm on Sunday until 10am on Monday, forecaster predict that wintry showers are set to develop.
It said: “They will extend east across southern Scotland and the remainder of northern and central England.
“Clearing skies later in the night are expected to lead to ice developing on untreated surfaces.
“Showers will mainly fall as rain at low levels but could turn to snow in heavier or more prolonged showers resulting in 2cm to 5cm accumulating in places above 100m to 200m, for example west of Northern Ireland, Cumbria, Pennines and north Wales.”
What to expect
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
Meanwhile, a flood warning remains in place for Keswick Campsite and flood alerts – meaning flooding is possible – are active for:
- Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
- Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent
- Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
- Rivers Lowther and Eamont
- Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater
