A section of the A592 is set to be closed from next Monday as work continues to resurface it.
Part of the Safer Roads Project, contractors are now moving on to phase five of the scheme, which will be completed in three sections.
Phase five is due to begin on Monday, January 23, and last until Friday February 3, weather permitting. Section one is Dacre junction to Waterfoot junction, section two is Rheged end to Dalemain junction and section three is Dalemain to Dacre junction.
The road will be closed with work taking place between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Outside of the working hours, access will be maintained where possible, but vehicles do so at their own risk, Cumbria County Council said.
Diversions will be in place.
Northbound: Travelling via the A5091 through Dockray and onto the A66.
Southbound: Travelling via the A66 and onto the A5901 through Dockray before rejoining the A592.
During the work, local businesses will be open as usual, but residents and visitors are advised to plan their journeys ahead, as extra time may be needed to get to their destinations.
