Police have seen an increase in the number of anti-social behaviour incidents in Keswick.
These have included assaults against each other. Officers have identified suspects and will be making arrest enquiries.
In the meantime, police are working with schools to provide education and intervention work through Cumbria Constabulary’s child centred policing team and an officer will continue to be proactive in challenging anti-social behaviour.
And next month, Keswick will gain an extra police and community support officer for the area to increase visibility and contact with the local community.
A police spokesman said: “If you suspect your child or a child in your care or that you know, is involved in anti-social behaviour or low-level criminal damage, please speak to them (PCSOs) about the impact it can have on a victim, the community and their future.”
Anti-social behaviour can be reported via 101 or by calling Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555 111.
“Community reporting is vital to receive an effective policing response and without communities passing on the information of the issues in their area, we may never become aware of it as a problem,’’ added the spokesman.
