A mountain biker was airlifted to hospital after he crashed while out on a Lake District trail.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out at around 2.15pm yesterday, Saturday March 18, to Whinlatter Forest.
The man had crashed on the forest’s red trail, injuring his chest and also had minor cuts to his face.
The volunteers administered pain relief and the biker was taken by stretcher to an air ambulance, which took him to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for treatment.
Fifteen team members were involved and the call out lasted around two hours.
