The chairman of the West Cumbria branch of CAMRA, Stephen Walker, presented its 2023 Club of the Year certificate to Keswick Rugby Club.
Runner-up in this year’s award was The Lowther Club in Whitehaven. Voting was done by volunteer members of the branch, which has about 190 members.
Keswick Rugby Club has a large bar and an outdoor drinking area, all of which is open to non members.
The club sells Swan Blonde, which is brewed in Kendal by Bowness Bay Brewing and club steward Craig Howett serves a consistently good pint of this real ale, CAMRA said.
