The annual Midsummer Festival put on by Keswick Town Council for the benefit of Keswick residents takes place this weekend.
Both free to attend, the traditional Pop & Proms is on Saturday (2pm to 9pm), and the Scruffs Dog Show is on Sunday (10am to 4pm), both Fitz Park.
St Herbert’s School choir will begin proceedings at Pop & Proms, which will finish with the traditional “Last Night of the Proms” by soprano Emily Robinson.
There will also be children’s games and activities provided by the Keswick Scout and Guide groups, and Bee Unique, a charity supporting children with autism.

On Sunday, the park is taken over by four-legged visitors, as the ever popular Keswick Scruffs event takes place.
Sponsored by town business, Podgy Paws, there are classes for dogs including “most appealing eyebrows” and “waggiest tail”.
There are 14 classes in total, along with a “Dogtathlon” and a dachshund race, with each class and prize sponsored by a local business.
The Cumberland Market will also be there and dogs can be pre-registered for any of the classes at Podgy Paws or on the day at 10am.
See www.keswick-scruffs.co.uk for details.
Keswick councillor Sally Lansbury, who has been organising the acts performing at the Pop and Proms, said: “We have something for all age groups and tastes this year.”
She said Pop & Proms will feature “brilliant local singer-songwriters and bands”. Performers will include choral work, original music, favourites from the pop genre, songs from the shows, opera and the anthemic proms section.
“Please sing along and get up and dance where appropriate,” said Cllr Lansbury. “Thanks in advance to all the many volunteers who make this possible. This is a free of charge event for our local community so please do come down, eat, drink and be merry together.”
There will be refreshments at both Café West and Café HNW in Fitz Park, as well as a mobile cocktail vendor Hello Dandy.
