A creative arts festival is to be hosted for the second year running in the packing hall Keswick’s former pencil factory.
Eden Valley Artistic Network’s weekend event, Factory: Festival of Creative Arts, will run from Friday August 18 to Sunday August 20 and will feature contemporary artwork by Cumbrian artists and makers.
There will be more to enjoy outside under the canopy, where local musicians will perform while visitors sit, relax and enjoy the refreshments offered by local caterers, Shake, Waffle & Roll and Moon and Sixpence.
Over the weekend, local artists will offer a series of workshops, suitable for ages 12+ and they are as follows:
Friday August 18, 10am-12pm: Collage greetings cards with Natalie Burns; 1 to 3pm: An introduction to needle felted landscape with Jane Firth.
Saturday August 18, 10am-12pm: Free-form landscapes and the village using acrylic paints with Alison Marrs; 1.30-3.30pm: Fused Glass taster session with Roxanne Denny.
Sunday August 20, 10am-12pm: Drawing for Doubters with Maggi Toner-Edgar.
EVAN director, Maggi Toner-Edgar, said: “Since the renovation of the home of the Cumberland pencil, the EVAN arts network is delighted to present a fantastic ‘Festival of Music and Art” to showcase our local artistic talent. Our first event, in 2022, was a very enjoyable, memorable event with a lovely friendly vibe.”
