A Keswick cafe is aiming to win first place in the national Dog Friendly Awards – and it needs your help.
Cafe Hope, in the town’s Hope Park, has come third for the past two years running in the best restaurant or cafe category and it has an excellent chance of clinching the number one spot this time around.
The cafe is the place to go for lots of local dog owners and holidaymakers along with their four-legged friends.
Dogs have their own section on the menu, there is a ‘Dog Refuelling Station’ for thirsty pups to enjoy a drink and in the heatwave earlier this year they added a doggy paddling pool at the back of the cafe to help keep pets cool.
“We absolutely love our doggy visitors here at Cafe Hope,” said manager Viki Mallaghan. “A cuddle with some of our furry customers is a real perk of the job!
“We love seeing people relax and enjoy their time at the cafe knowing that their dogs are welcome and looked after too.
“We’ve been thrilled to make it to the final three for the last two years running but to go all the way and be named the UK’s Best Dog Friendly Cafe would be amazing!
“Everyone knows Keswick is a super dog friendly town so to win this would just be the icing on the cake. We have the best customers, lots of them have told us we deserve to win, we’re just hoping we can get enough votes to take the number one spot this year.”
Voting is open until October 31 and everyone that votes can also enter a free prize draw to win £1,000 towards a dog friendly holiday. To vote, visit www.dogfriendly.co.uk/restaurants-and-cafes/listing/hope-park-games-and-cafe-50764
