This stunning image of the Northern Lights over Derwentwater near Keswick was snapped by Alan Graham of Penrith.
He told the Reminder that he had not planned to go out on Tuesday night but had seen a number of alerts on Facebook saying that there was a strong possibility of seeing the spectacular aurora borealis.
“So I headed out to Derwentwater and all I could see with my eyes was a grey hue arching over Keswick,” said Mr Graham. “But looking on the back of the camera I was very glad I did go out as it was the best display of Northern Lights I’d ever captured.”
