A hotel in the Lake District is offering “scream therapy” to help people suffering from burnout.
Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa at Bassenthwaite has introduced an exceptionally cathartic solution for releasing stress and tension.
The hotel said that scream therapy, also referred to as primal scream therapy, offers a cathartic outlet for individuals to release pent-up emotions and stress.
It involves screams, often taking place in a therapeutic environment, such as Armathwaite.
A hotel spokesperson said: “This unique offering provides a powerful means to alleviate emotional tension, reduce anxiety, and nurture a profound sense of emotional relief and wellbeing.”
It follows statistics which show that 88 per cent of UK employees suffered some level of burnout between 2020-2022.
Lorela Movileano, spa manager at Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa said: “While our spa offers rejuvenating and relaxing treatments to alleviate this stress, there are moments when a more unconventional approach is called for.
“We’ve curated a haven where our guests can unapologetically be themselves and release pent-up emotions. This age-old practice, though unconventional, offers a cathartic experience that enables our guests to liberate themselves from emotional and physical tensions, fully embracing their journey to relaxation and self-discovery.”
