Two cultures are set to collide as restaurants at two north Lakes hotels unite for a one-off evening of exceptional food.
Sushi and steak sharing platters will be available on the night from the Brossen Steakhouse at Keswick’s Inn on the Square as well as the famous chocolate lava cake from Mizu Pan-Asian at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa.
The pop-up dining experience and culinary collaboration is a response to repeat requests from locals who have expressed a desire for Japanese food in the centre of Keswick.
On Saturday January 27 guests will be able to enjoy a fusion of flavours as Mizu’s talented chefs take over the Brossen kitchen. For one night only, guests can savour the best of both worlds as the Mizu team, celebrated for winning Best Pan-Asian Restaurant in England at the 2022 Golden Chopsticks Awards, bring six of their best-selling sushi platters, plus the restaurant’s famous chocolate lava cake, to the Keswick town-centre steakhouse.
An exclusive menu has been created for the night which will be available alongside the traditional Brossen Steakhouse menu. The highlight of the pop-up menu is the sushi and steak sharer for two people which has combined the most popular dishes from each restaurant – six pieces of sushi and a choice of 21-day salt aged sharing steak which is accompanied by a choice of three Brossen sides and one steak sauce.
The event also offers an opportunity to sample a Mizu x Brossen Chef’s Sushi platter unavailable at the Borrowdale-based restaurant. This dish has been crafted exclusively for this event and blends the best of both restaurant’s offerings.
“Time and time again, we’ve had requests for a taste of Mizu’s Japanese delights in the heart of Keswick, which is why we are thrilled to turn those wishes into reality with this exclusive one-off collaboration,” said Dani Hope, director of Lake District Hotels. “If the Brossen x Mizu pop-up event turns out to be a roaring success, we would certainly look to run more of them in the future.”
