A jetty on Derwentwater badly damaged during the mid-February storms is in the process of being repaired by staff at the Keswick Launch Co.
Heavy winds and rain caused the wooden structure to buckle with a company spokesman describing the boat landing as being “smashed to pieces”.
“We are replacing old for new,” said the spokesperson. “It has got to be kept the same. Traditional.”
The spokesperson said that it had not impacted the business, as it had been using a second boat landing.
Asked how much the work was likely to cost, the spokesperson said: “I would not like to say. It will not be cheap.
“We are looking for it to be open in another week. They are cracking on nicely with the work to be fair and making a good job of it.”
