Hospice at Home’s popular Summit at Sunset fundraising event will once again happen during the Summer Solstice on Friday June 21.
Last year it was a very successful event despite Storm Betty making the walkers abandon the summit on Blencathra. The goal had been to raise £15,000 but that target was smashed by £5,000.
The bar has been set high and the Hospice at Home fundraising team are hoping that their ascent this year will be a spectacular affair.
This year supporters will be guided up Skiddaw, the fourth highest mountain in the UK, by Lakeland mountain guides
Registration for the event will be £45 per person and supporters are asked to raise £75 each in sponsorship.
Hospice at Home is pleased to offer, until March 28, an early bird offer on the registration fee. Just type in EARLY BIRD OFFER into the promo code on the sign up to pay a registration fee of £30. The business support for last year’s event was overwhelming, with teams from enterprises in and around the Carlisle and Penrith area taking part.
Full support will be provided by Lakeland mountain guides to ensure safety on the fells, and participants will also receive fundraising support, branded merchandise and a snack from the Hospice at Home team.
Hospice at Home relies on fundraising events like this to continue with the mission to provide quality end of life care within the home.
